  • Doh!!, never even thought of simply naming the drive the same. If there are two ways of doing somehting, one simple and easy, one complex and difficult. Always chose the complex way.

I bought a 23″ Cinema Display and a 20″ Dell for bins, etc. After I got over how annoying it was that they dont match; it work out well. Only problem is I cannot get them calibrated equally. 20″ is close to the same vertical size as 23″ Apple.

  • Shane, The FW drive is going to be strictly a backup and I was hoping (purely speculative at this point) that by cloning I would not have to do any reconect if the RAID went down. I could simply pull the FW of the shelf, plug it in, and voila, FCP sees it as the original RAID. Draging and dropping is what I am doing now. I did it folder by folder because I thought we had a corrupt file. Now I’ve learned that it probably is a FW/OS issue in general. Do you have any problems draging a droping large amounts of data (over 1Tb) onto FW drives? We tried that at the very first; but it would hang up about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way there.

Yes, sorry for being unclear. It is the aluminum door. Cant tell were it is binding. Machine is not under warranty and its not really that bad. Just sometimes it doesnt open all the way and I have to push it down with my finger. Was hesitant on anything that might get on some other delicate part.

[Ben Waggoner] “The simplest thing to do is forget you know how many pixels are in the source – just make sure your source aspect ratio matches your output aspect ratio.”

So in a 720×480 (DV NTSC) project it will distort, no?

Would you have any recomendations on an inexpensive one? Like I said its strictly to keep me from have to ride gain or blow my ears out. Any mixing I send to a pro or if I have to I do within FCP/ST.
