Jerky Playback thru firewire
Any ideas ? is this a known issue ? Its just very jerky when playing through firewire.
After Effects is fine.

Firewire can handle very high bit rates so video should play back just fine, what type of video is it (DV, HD, Uncompressed?) and what kind of Firewire drive are you running?

Hey Scott thanks for the response.
Its a new Mac Pro.
Dual Core 2 ghz
2 gigs ram
Intel chips.
Its smooth thru after effects.
Through FCP any kind of footage is jerky.My Decklink card sadly does not fit as the bus is PCI e on the new Mac Pro.
Sux.
So I am just winging it with the firewire in the interim. But it is concerning.Nick

Its just jerky almost like fields are missing.
