Thanks, Walter. I’ve heard through the grapevine that the BBC never truly adopted Premiere (even the CS version). I’ve even heard they were simply given the Creative Suite by Adobe and that they never bought it. I don’t know if this is true or not, but I was always suspicious of the story myself. Unfortunately, the Adobe site would produce heavily biased stories. Also, the Creative Cloud masks the true usage of Premiere – because there are so many apps, there are no statistics of who’s using what. So, it’s very difficult to get an accurate picture of what’s going on.

Thanks, Shane! That’s an awesome tutorial. I’m going to experiment to see if I can use this Paint Effect method to get that bloom transition you see everywhere in reality TV.

I think I MAY have accidentally flattened a layer. Originally, I thought I had just released to layers (sequence). I couldn’t figure it out, so I just started from scratch and all was fine with the release to layers (sequence) method.

Thanks guys. Don’t know why I didn’t see your replies until now. I wanted to keep camera movement, but smooth it out. I don’t think the motion tracker in AE allows you to smooth camera movement the way the one in Nuke does. I’m not sure if Mocha has camera smoothing capabilities, but I’ll look into it.

Hi, Steve.

No, I didn’t solve this the way I wanted to. I just exported OMFs from the NLE and chose to eliminate level changes on OMF export.

Regarding your questions…

Does Finder manage to create a preview icon of the file when it is in Column mode? If it does, does it create a preview when in Icon mode?

Yes to both.

What I had to do in the end was install windows on bootcamp, and get ahold of quicktime pro for PC. Then, I attached the drive and quicktime pro was able to open the files that quicktime pro couldn’t open in Mac. Then, I did a “save as” and saved the files with a different name. Obviously, it’s not the ideal fix, but it was the only way I could salvage the files. Luckily it was only 2 files, because the process took an extremely long time.
