Thanks for the suggestion. However, I should have stressed that I was looking for an affordable way to do this – without purchasing one of these docks that cost a few hundred dollars. There really should be a simple adaptor, but for some reason Apple seems to have made this impossible.

Thanks for the suggestion, Kris. Unfortunately, Mpeg Streamclip hangs as well. If the issues is a corrupt header in the quicktime files, is there any way to fix it? Since the files play on the windows side, I guess I’ll look for a (hopefully) free way to copy them that will hopefully fix the corrupt header so that I can use the files on a mac. You’d think that if the files were going to become corrupt, they’d do so in both operating systems. I even tried reinstalling Mountain Lion, but that had no effect.

Thanks, John! Is there any way to use data from the regular tracker to smooth camera motion, or can you only use the warp stabilizer to smooth camera motion in AE? In Nuke, you can track points and then smooth out that point graph to smooth the motion. I don’t want to eliminate the camera motion entirely.

Thanks, Glenn. I was actually more interested in being able to bring up the actual keyboard settings window with single button push, because I’m in the process of really learning the program and working out my keyboard settings. I’m constantly finding a new approach to mapping as I’m going through Steven Cohen’s amazing ‘Avid Agility’ book and picking up tidbits. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it is really slowing me down, having to open the command palette and they go over to the keyboard settings and open that up. I actually wish the keyboard was attached to the command palette and then just hit command 3 and you’ve got your access. But, it is good to know about your approach of making different users for different keyboards for different workspaces. I was wondering about how people made different keyboards that they would call up quickly. Too bad you can’t tie different keyboards to different work spaces.

Thanks, Cassius! Good to know. I precomped the text and then added a camera into the precomp and repositioned the camera to remove the perspective. Then, I had to reposition the text precomp in the main comp. Too bad they don’t have the ability to use the orthographic views. Would make things a lot simpler.

Good idea, Job ter Burg. Unfortunately,I tried exporting stereo as well as just mono and got the same results. I’m not an audio expert, but it sounds like more than just phasing. There’s also a digital stutter. It’s a very messy sound.

Thanks for the suggestion, John. I did try that SD approach, but couldn’t produce OMF files from Avid that were readable by Audition. I’m starting to suspect there are some deterrents put in place to prevent people using Audition for sweetening vs. Protools. FCP7 and Audition played relatively well together, but I can’t get a good workflow going between Avid and Audition.
