I mean that it was in service three times now for the same reason and they acknowledge that they are unable to fix it.
They changed the main-board twice, the CPU one time and the last time they changed the logic board in the cinema display.
Who am I to tell them that it must the be the capacitors in the PSU…just because my TV had the exact same problem 😉
The computer does not wake up from sleep properly and I have to shut it down…all work is lost.
It also needs two boot attempts every single time.Anyway, because the MacPro is officially not on sale anymore in Europe there are talks about offering me an iMac instead.
So I would like to see the numbers of the Standard Candle test if possible.A slice of color…

When you right click the one thumbnail in the timeline you should bring up a menu where you can select 8 versions.
The noes will double every time and then Noise Reduction nodes will be added.
Switch to a version and let it play, then write down the FPS count and share with us.
I am very curious to see those numbers as my MacPro is dead now and Apple wants to replace it with an iMac.A slice of color…

Well, if you have the time and energy to browse the forum you probably found dozens of answers already covering the topic.
So why do you think you need to ride the same dead horse again into a new thread.
The attitude I am expressing is me pulling out my hair over the flood of posts like this spamming not only this forum which used to be a place to discuss specific problems grading with Davinci Resolve.
Over the last year it has become a collection of the same basic questions how to start a grading business with minimal or or no financial investment.
And I am getting really tired of seing them in here especially because we have a new forum for basic and configuration questions as you probably know already.
Without a proper screen, a basic knowledge of calibration and some dedicated hardware it will be really difficult to do more than just playing around with some color changing sliders.
But hey…what do I know.A slice of color…

It would be sooooo easy to implement this..
I am asking for that on the Scratch list for years as well.
At least they have the option to load in multiple LUTs, so I made myself a BW one.
But simple button would be so handy.
I mean, I turn my scope screen also to BW.
I think the engineers shoudl spend a day in a grading room with clients breathing over your should comparing screens.
They always do…you can tell them to walk away and only look at the dedicated screen.
And the trouble starts when they like your UI better.So, i second this request big time…either separat LUTs or a simple BW button…Yes please

Guys, I feel like I have to chime in when it comes to overpowering cards.
It might be a coincidence, or not…but my MacPro is in Apple Care for the third time now .
I was using a Q4000 and a GTX470 together using a splitter for a good while until one day it just died.
They did not say anything in the shop…they just put in a new CPU and Logicboard.
Since then the Mac is not waking up from sleep and needs two boot cycles every time , so it went back into service twice.
I guess they will take out every part and just give me back the old enclosure with new e-parts.
Sooooo, I will stick to the Q4000 for the home system and be patient.
At work both Cubix operate as planed.
One with 4×580 PC and one with 3×680 and frankly, for any semi serious grading session, thats what you wanna do.
Leave the stress and the noise in the room next door and free your Mac 🙂A slice of color…
