Great job guys 🙂
Its really nice to see there is so much development , especially for those new formats.
I still have high hopes for a working DV workflow or at least the ability to read the DV encoded AVID MXF files I sent you two weeks ago.Stability has improved sooooo much.
I had not a single crash the whole year 🙂A slice of color…

Interesting idea…but that only changes the QT player, not the way Resolve reads the file.
BUT, if we had the same options in Resolve it might work.
Thats what i am asking for…
DV is such a light codec…
We have 10s of thousands of hours of archive footage in that codec…
I consider it a priority 😉A slice of color…

Gets my vote.
I would also see a more Scratch or Smoke like render data management.
Instead of telling me every time that I am rendering to the same folder, which is cute , by the way, I would like the application to have a look what really has been rendered.
And if the frames are there, just dont render..
Or ask me if I would like to overwrite them.
And if some frames are existing, just render the remaining ones.
The best would be to check the timeline to determine if one or multiple shots have been updated since the last render and then only those.ppuhh….yeah…thats how Scratch works 🙂
Almost impossible to get lost in render land.
And Smoke ALWAYS renders everything to disk first before exporting anything which really helps playing back big stuff.A slice of color…

Then I suggest you should either use their own forum or write them a personal mail.
I doubt they will drop official statements in a public place.
The network protocols are also not optimal for working with Resolve.
I suggest getting a Tangent element for proper color work.
At least the middle part.A slice of color…

Just to illustrate what I am talking about
On the left you see the DV interpretation Resolve (and QT Player) is doing.
On the right you see the file the way Smoke is seeing it, or QT if converted to ProRes 4444 or anything non DV.
It seems Resolve is using the same library QT Player is using, including its weird way of on-the-fly deinterlacing.
Also it stretches the image slightly , not to mention the gamma shifts.A slice of color…

Please move the Skin tones area to the middle…
Or even better, center the range around the first clickA slice of color…
