relax 🙂 we will sort this out.
Ok, two option to get the footage onto a timline.
For proxy creation you do not even go to the EDIT tab.
Select all your footage, right click and go to the lowest option called
Create Timeline using selected clips….and then just press create new timeline
That will put it all on one timeline in the right order..
The videos you are watching are probably from Resolve 9 where all footage automatically was sitting on a master timeline.
Thats not the case anymore…Alternatively you need to act from the EDIT Tab.
Above your Media Pool is a smaller window.
Rightclick there to make a new Timeline
Afterwards you can drag and drop media or insert and append it all at once. Please ditch the old videos and get Warrens FXPHD class for Resolve 11

After my yesterday Teamviewer session with the Sapphire team and our joint efforts to crash Resolve failing miserably i can only say, well done 🙂

December 5, 2014 at 10:21 am in reply to: Adding Softness or Feathering after you key framed the power windowAt some time we had the same problem in Scratch.
After some back and forth the guys implemented the selective copy/paste menu you have today.
That was a trick to duplicate just a few on the animated parameters to a new window. The whole keyframe handling in Resolve needs modernisation at some time.
Starting with not using the names you give a node and using numbers in the timeline window instead to the cumbersome task of deleting multiple keyframes at once to the non existing ability of turning animations on and off.We have all the functions we need, some are just stuck at a 2009 level of interaction, mostly to fit the panel i guess.

Ross, what about the other way ?
A hand-off function ?
When we look at Resolves way of caching images, that could serve as a base of operations for Mocha, right ?
So maybe the Resolve guys could incorporate a script, a button, a function that creates a sequence , launches Mocha and takes all the configuration from Resolve to setup the tracking session.
Business TV in Germany and myself developed something similar for Assimilate and Fusion years ago.
But then we had access to Python scripting in both apps.
It was a little cumbersome back then but I think things are easier now with Resolves cache function doing the hard part.
If the cached footage can be used for tracking afterwards the tracking data should just be available as copy/paste data in Resolve.Dreams…are my reality 😉

Hi Ross,
as much as I like my Mocha Pro, the process of exporting , tracking, exporting tracking data and using it is something i am willing to do for a few shots only.
In this case I have like 3 hours for 50 shot.
So what I really would like to see is an OFX pipeline , like the Sapphire Lens designer for example , where a Mocha plugin could live inside Resolve.
Either as a native plug or a hand-off type of system that frees us from the export-import hassle.Resolve wise, a “region of interest” is exactly what i am talking about, yes.
Blacking out parts of the image with windows, rendering, exporting and importing was my solution yesterday.
But shuffling the order of grading-masking-tracking would free us from that process.
I will make more tests with “Create compound clip”
Maybe that would work.A slice of color…

Almost 🙂
The thing is the stabiliser sometimes produces strange results, lets say when people are moving on a zoom in the camera.
I would like to track a part of the image that contains only the camera move.
So I thought i could make a window, track that, copy its tracking data, switch to Track 2 with the overlay, paste it there into the stabiliser and voila.
But it seems i can only paste window to window and stabi to stabi, right ?
Alternative I could exclude parts of the video when stabilising…a garbage matte.
But I also did not find controls for that.
I even tried to black out parts of the image to only keep the parts visible that should be tracked on.
That workaround works only when the images are rendered as it seems the tracker works before the nodes.A slice of color…

Hi Terry,
I tested the footage on my new MacPro 6 Core 2x D700 under 10.10 and it plays just fine.
Both in the color page with a couple of nodes and also in the edit page and media pool.
However, if I try the same on the company system which looks a lot like yours, it stutters too.
We had the problem with a lot of the XAVC footage and decided to go with a ProRes conversion done in the Sony tool provided.
Also because AVID was very unhappy with the codec as well.A slice of color…
