Since upgrading to 11.1.1, the edit page is doing some very strange things. May have to back up to 11.1 but I thought I would run this one by you guys.

My current project contains Sony F5 2k raw media that appears in the media pool as .mxf.
    The timeline is 1920×1080 @ 23.976fps.

Every time I enter the edit page, playback slows to 5fps +/-.

    Example:
I’m working in the color page as normal, everything good.
I enter the edit page to make a change to the timeline and playback hits 5fps.
Back to the color page and it also will now only playback at 5fps.
I have to close Resolve and re-launch to re-gain 23.976fps.
As long as I avoid the edit page everything works as expected.

I have the latest Cuda drivers running on OS 10.9.4
The media is on a USB3 drive connected via a Caldigit USB3 PCI card.

    Anybody else seeing this?
    Thanks in advance.

Hi, can you post a link to a few seconds of the clip?

    Hi Terry,

I tested the footage on my new MacPro 6 Core 2x D700 under 10.10 and it plays just fine.
Both in the color page with a couple of nodes and also in the edit page and media pool.
However, if I try the same on the company system which looks a lot like yours, it stutters too.
We had the problem with a lot of the XAVC footage and decided to go with a ProRes conversion done in the Sony tool provided.
Also because AVID was very unhappy with the codec as well.

    A slice of color…

Thank you for testing this Sasha.

What I’ve found after further investigation is that if I place a single clip in a new timeline by itself, it plays perfectly in media, edit, and color. But when there are multiple clips in the timeline (22 minutes trt in this case) playback drops to 5 or 6fps if I switch to the edit page and hit play.

To reiterate, this only occurs with F5 footage. If I avoid the edit page during a grading session, everything works as expected. If I switch to edit page and press play, I end up having shut down and restart Resolve. Unfortunately my client does not want his footage transcoded to ProRes prior to grading.

I see similar thing on my 5.1 but with some material and not sure if the same amount
    you have.

What sometimes fixes it for me is zooming in a bit as the lag seems to me stronger
when all zoomed out like UI refresh would do that.
