Hi Rafa,

one more question: If I set it to ProRes, will ProRes LT do? Because of space issue on HD.
Is there a huge difference in Footage from the SONY? I know, with the 5D there is, but with the AVCHD Codec, PorRes LT usually is good enough.

I know, but sometimes the factor time is killing you and I do not have a 12 Core Desktop – unfortunately 😉
So, Best things to do would be:

– Set my timeline options to ProsRes and render everything in Hi Precision YUV?

Does it matter that the actual footage on the timeline is still XDCAM Codec?

first thanx for the nice mail reply. Gonna answer you in detail soon, just in the middle of finishing two projects.

Regarding my question:

Right now the setting of my timeline were:
-Quicktime video settings: XDCAM 1080p25, field dominance none, aspect ratio square
-Video processing 8bit YUV (will set this still to high precision)
– and yes prores under: “Render Control” Tab -> Codec: Apple ProRes for XDCAM Footage

Can I export in those settings or you think I should put the Quicktime video settings to ProRes as well? I thought when I render and set it to ProRes in the Render Control Tab it will be enough?

The resizing I usually do in After Effects, since it does a great job, or in Compressor.

What do you mean by clipped?

Try to covert footage in different way and see if it’s same result. For example with Compressor, Red Giant Grinder or ClipWrap.

Found it! It’s a Plist FIle problem – trash the PLIST – restart. All is fine.

Could you tell me in a nutshell what’s the quickest and safest way to do that second step in the Manager?
Since I have 1500 clips, I hope it’s a rather simple and self repeating one?

Fixed it – thought I had all the plug ins and drivers downloaded for FCP – but was missing one.

thanx for the reply.
But the problem I have with this (since it’s a long concert and it takes ages to render each time): When I set the Sequence setting to XDCAM with render effects to ProRes, and render it all, watch it, and when it’s ok output it with current settings, then it’s a MPEG-2 in the final result.
So, I have to put the output settings to Prores and then it doe shave to re render it all again – very time consuming.
It’s not an option, just to set the timeline codec already to ProRes – watch it and when all is ok, it’s easier to output in the current settings.
Does it to bad to the XDCAM footage to set the timeline to ProRes?
