  • Setting the LOg & Transfer to ProRes LT for EX3 Footage?

Posted by Sascha Engel on February 13, 2012 at 8:22 pm

    Hi,

a very general question: Can I set in the Log & transfer window inside FCP in the Preferences somehow the settings in a way, that FCP transfers the EX Footage to ProRes LT and not to XDCAM EX Codec?
    Thanx a lot.

Nope. XDCAM only comes in as XDCAM. If you want it to be ProRes…you gotta use the Media Manager to convert, after you import. Two stage process.

    Hi Shane,

    Thanx for the answer.
Could you tell me in a nutshell what’s the quickest and safest way to do that second step in the Manager?
Since I have 1500 clips, I hope it’s a rather simple and self repeating one?

    Greetings,

    Sascha.

    Sascha,
Why do you want PRLT instead of EX footage?
Edit in EX and before exporting change your sequence codec to Prores or even PRHQ, or edit the EX stuff directly on an PR sequence.
