Does it mean that if we shoot at 1080i 25P the only way to view component out is by selecting 1080i as the output? Does just sound completely wrong. Why do they give you the option of selecting the output format?

Thanks a lot for your input. It was a question that it’s been nagging me for quite a while. I thought firewire would always be the better way but somehow I’ve been living in this silly limbo….

Another question though, how about HDV? Would it be easier to do a 1:1 HDV as HD component in instead of 1:1 HDV firewire in? Wouldn’t HD component in render a better and easier signal to work with compared to a HDV signal? How would avid digitise the HD component signal froma HDV deck? As HDV? (doubt it) as DVC PRO HD? Someone at the studio raised the question yesterday and we all kind of went silent…

    Thanks

I mean, each and everyone individually. Not just a section a few frames back or forth but each clip to shift, say 4 frames.

You need to add a deck (probably generic PAL/NTSC device) to the channel you have created. Then go to capture tool and click the box under the playback button and select check decks.

    That should do

Teach them how to handle the equipment properly and not treat it like it is a bag of crips. How to put away a tripod etc, and the reasons why. I run a hire company and students are the most scary clients as they always, well not always but many times, give the kit back in a mess.

How to clean lenses, what to use and why, how to change them. where to grab them from…

You know where I’m talking about….

  • go to tools, output tool and set the output to S-video. You might have it on composite.

Make sure you go onto your project bins and before opening the project on Xpress pro you delete the settings file. Otherwise you might expereince problems on Xpress pro every time you open that project. Once deleted you start Xpro, Xpro will create a new settings file.
