All MAC software out there now is compatable for both IBM and intel processors. The switch from one processor to another has not been decided oevrnight and it has been many years in the making. Once the first intel MACs come out any program you are using now will be able to work on that platform as it has been written having this situation in mind.

dude, what’s non essensial information on an EDL? I have never opened an edl data sheet. I have never actually used FCP before. I just know the online is going to be done on FCP and the DI onto a big grading suite and then printed on 35mm. It was shot on HDV but offlined at DV res and also at 15:1s. I hope the fact there are mixed resolutions is not causing the problem….

Just checking, what setting should I choose when importing the EDL. HDV settings right?

    Please, some help!!

    Thanks

June 24, 2005 at 7:01 am in reply to: audio field recorder, any suggestions?

I’ll be using the sennheiser 416P microphone and above mics
We will be using it from anything from 35mm to HD, HDV, etc. Pretty much anything.
Up to today the sound recordist has used recorders with 2 channels and never complained, so 2 channels will do.
We don’t necessarily need TC now, but it would be interesting to may be purchase another one that handles TC, or a recorder that we can attach a TC unit.

I have a question though. If I buy a recorder from the US, do I have to worry about NTSC and PAL different frame rate?

    Thanks

    Sam
