    Hi there:

    I am an avid/discreet editor. I have been given an FCP project to touch up to then grade on this FCP system. I am using a FCP5 with an aja Kona 2 card. When I turn the external video out on I get video out but I can’t get the composer/canvas monitor in the timeline to play, it gets stuck on a still frame. The moment I turn the external video off the composer monitor plays the timeline. I am editing some HDV footage (don’t ask me why they have done the edit on native HDV), but I guess this must be a setting I need to correct?

    Hi Sam,

    Have you checked the “Mirror on Desktop?” Pulldown: FINAL CUT PRO> AUDIO/VIDEO SETTINGS > EXTERNAL VIDEO > Mirror on Desktop
