Component output issues from HVX200
Hi:
I am having problems to view what we’ve shot on the HVX200 with firestore through the component cable and into a broadcast monitor. I do get to see the footage on the LCD screen monitor on camera, but I can’t get picture into the broadcast monitor. We are recording 1080i 25P. When we are in camera mode I can see picture but when I am on playback mode there is none. Anyone knows what it might be wrong? Is it a camera limitation? Does it only play through component the same format it was shot on?
At the moment we are recording HD but have a 576i component out setting. Could this be the reason? Do we need a HD monitor to preview?

Does it mean that if we shoot at 1080i 25P the only way to view component out is by selecting 1080i as the output? Does just sound completely wrong. Why do they give you the option of selecting the output format?

You cannot play Firestore clips in HD. The HVX can play HD from the cards, but cannot pass an HD signal from the firewire port through its component outputs. It just doesn’t have that capability. It can send a standard-def signal through, and it can input an HD signal from the firewire port and send out s-video or composite, but it can’t send HD out from a firewire input.

So, how come I can’t playback the footage SD 576i through component out?
