Hi,
I have also experinced lots of similar crashes.
I am using 10 bit pal project to capture a 1000+ 50min. edl with 5.2 drivers.

these crashes were not there with 5.1 drivers.

the crashes(i.e a serious error … etc) happened when i was placing an imported clip on the timeline.
The imported clips was renderd on after effects with 10 bit 422 blackmagic codec. After reopening and reimporting the same clip, i could place it on the timeline without any problem. I would say the crashing happened 3/10 times i was doing the above. It also crashed with same message if switched on or off the video layer on ppro. again not always.
these chances of these crashes are high if i was doing the above two actions.

I am even facing similar problems capturing dv clips. ppro reports cant activate current recorder try resetting the camera.
So i opened an blackmagic decklink dv project chose dv capture and said ok the premiere crashed without saying any thing
I did the same thing again but this removed all the four check boxes Saying playback and preview on desk top etc. the system did not crashed. i got the dv control. but i was getting black on desktop capture window. but when i batch captured the clips, the clips were ok . though it was showing black during capture.

First time i installed 5.1 drivers it captured smoothly. now it happens the same way on both 5.1 & 5.2 drivers. i’ll check on earlier versions and report

Hi,
I did’nt mean to capture via decklink on avid dv or that kind of support. I had a matrox g550 display card on 865 motherboard. the display card has facility to output any video in the system to secondry monitor as tv out put. This is refered as dvd max settings. this is also referred as video mirroring. since decklink works as secondry display i am shure video mirroring can be enbabled on it. Say, i play a vcd or dvd on power dvd or windows media player and i will get full screen output on my secondry display. i.e tv out put.(I want decklink to do that). My avid dv uses this facility to give full screen video on my secondry display. Thats how i have done offline of over 100 music videos on avid dv .I intend to use avid dv for offline & premiere pro for online.

i hope you understand my request, this is nothing to do with avid dv really.

Thanks for the advice, I’ll try the suggested settings. No my video never drops and the dropped frame warning is on. What i do is batch capture approx a 1000 cut edl. Import a wav file “stereo” file and place it on time line. I do some graphics on afx and render them as avi with blackmagic 10 bit codec. whenever such problem comes i just punch back audio only which corrects the problem. but i waste expensive dg beta hrs doing that.

the chances of dropped audio reduces if i finish the work, save & restart the system and do master to tape.

Any way i’will report after doing the suggested settings

Hi,
I am batch capturing a 45 min edl from media 100. on edl import prepiere pro creates a time line and offline clips for each cut. it does not know how to capture the timeline but it batch captures all the offline clips and the time line automatically links it.
thought the following problem are still there
1. i can take trim handles
2. It, captures less media for speeded up clips for which i get an edl with a copy of normal speed clips for the fast more clips

HI,
I am using DELL SC1420, with 2×2.8 ghz xeons, 1.5 gb of ram. with it’s 2 ch embedded sata raid. the system seems to work ok. right now i am using ati 8mb pci graphic card that came with the system. will changing that will help in any way. please let me know.

Are you sure, you are opening a sd project not an HD one. I had this problem when i accidently opened an hd projectinstead of sd.

select the clip in the project window then go to clips-> audio options-> “breakout to mono clips” should work fine

Is it possible to render with black magic codec without the blackmagic card ? i know one can read the files but suppose it needs the hardware to write one.
