  • Hi,
I’ll like to confirm the problems stated by Bill Buchanan. I also used to get same problems. but i just had 1.5 gb ram then. the problem is not with 3gb ram. The problem starts coming as soon as we start applying effects on the time line. the title generally does not give any problems. It’s some particular effects only on which this problem comes. (error compiling movie etc.)
i could reproduce same problem in a 3 min time line with just a spark fx applied. As soon as i removed the spark, i could export the time line.
The thing required to identify is wether this is a decklink problem or premiere.

    thanks
    and best luck

    Hi,
please also check if all your ramm dimm’s are of the same type and frequency. mixing them also cause these kind of problems.

    Hi,
    Luke,
thanks for your reply. I have already told my friend to go for decklink extreme. May be if possible, You guys in future can offer a longer cable version for some people ( With increased cost). But giving decklink extreme in less than 1000$s is really commendable.
If possible put a pic of smaller cable in your web site so every body is clear what they are about to get.
    thanks

    Hi,
this seems to be an old problem with decklink.
my temp solution was to always reboot the system just before i am about to master to tape a long format programme. and after booting launching the application and straight away master.
i used to get 2-3 frames audio drop out somewhere generally around 4-8 min and the whole episode will go out of sync. I have seen this problem with many users mac and pc. if you watch your master carefully you will know when this happens. Video wise mt entire timeline was always correct it was only the audio which used to drop by 2-3 frames.

there were some posts of mine regarding this last year oct-nov-dec. you can search the arcive. But i could not get a solution.

i no longer do long form of work in my system. so i dont know weather the problem is still there or not.

    good luck

    Hi,
this is a beautiful utility. i’ll do test it and report.
You say control of avid composer. can you clarify.

can you add this support. video mirroring and full screen on decklink

i presently use avid dv xpress on the same system and i had to install a nvidia 6600 with tv out to work with avid dv. as with 6600 i can enable video mirror on secondry device as full screen video. this way i get full screen tv out from my avid dv

    thanks

October 23, 2006 at 2:36 pm in reply to: RAID-0 or other setup for speed AND data safety?

    Hi,,
If you are really bothered about your data safety go for a raid 5. sata raid solutions nowadays are quite cheap and give quite good performence and are reliable. remember with raid 5 you will get approx the speed and space of n-1 drive. so for a 4 drive setup you will get to use space of 4-1=3 drive only.
just make shure your disks doesnot get too hot. this will give you a long life to your disks and raid.

    best of luck
