    hi,
    I am looking for a laptop to work with avidxpress dv. i want the secondry display (s-video) to give full screen video when connected. any idea which laptop will give such facility. the laptop i have tried only gives clone mode or extended mode. but no full screen video on secondry monitor. please help.

    I’m not positive, but I think you need one with NVidia graphics. Have you checked the Avid web site?

    I use the HP Compaq nw9440 Mobile Workstation with the NVIDIA Quadro FX1500M with 256MB of video memory. Spec. as per Avid. I often use a second 20″ monitor with that set up.

    Hi,
    thanks for your replies. i have checked lenovo and hp laptops with nvidia 7300 graphics. they does not give fullscreen video on secondry. is there a solution on dell?

    You may be able to get this to work using a Matrox MXO box:

    No guarantee though.

    The Dell M70 used to be supported by Avid. I’m not sure of the Dell M90 has been qualified as yet. More info can be found on the Avid website.
