I don’t think I have that in my G5… I checked in the ‘About this Mac’ but it didn’ say anything about either… Thank you for the thought though.

Somebody else alluded to this in one of their answers, but I personally would just export the file from FCP as an AIFF, then open it in iTunes, and then from iTunes export it as an MP3. It happens really fast.

    good luck

Are you talking about Compressor 3? I remember that in Compressor 2, but I can’t recall seeing that in Compressor 3…

  • That was a very thorough response. Thank you.

  • Thanks for your reply.

Hmm… It seems to me though that as I shot on HD, so I think in this case, the HD cinema display is better than an NTSC monitor, because it is at least HD. What do you think about that? I’m just trying to see if it would be at least accurate enough to have a sense for what the film wil loo like projected…

    Any other thoughts are appreciated.

Are you unaware of the TV and Title Safe option that exists in the pop up menu of the Canvas?

For your internet output, essentially what you see in the Canvas is what you will see online… So I would just suggest that when you are done, export that finished product as a QT movie, then bring in the exported QT movie, scale the size to the look you want in the Canvas, and then export that into a web friendly codec.

    Make sense?

    Thank you!

Out of curiousity though, why do you say there “used” to be countdown leaders on the FCP install disks? Is that no longer the case, or are you just unsure about FCP 6?

Again, I do appreciate your response.

August 20, 2007 at 8:01 pm in reply to: Why do my fonts have jagged edges??

Sometimes it seems to be worse than other times, but if you go with fonts created in Boris or Livetype or Motion it will be better. Because FCP’s fonts are rasterized they will never look that great. I’ve found that having no field dominance in the sequence settings makes it look a lot better though. But on a computer, when there is movement, jagged edges will show up in the video- but when you play on an NTSC or HD montior I haven’t noticed any problems. Why don’t you experiment with the no field dominance and see how it looks when you put it to tape or DVD and watch it on an NTSC monitor?
