Hi Daniel,
Thanks for that. Unfortunately it’s not my choice to create a DVD. The footage is in HD, I have access to a 1920 x 1080 menu, but the client needs a highly compatible format. I assume I can’t choose the Blu-Ray setting for the HD assets but burn a DVD?

Hi Jon,
Many thanks for your suggestion. I made the highlights all opaque, but for some reason the tearing is even worse and Encore has retained some opacity in the preview despite the Photoshop file being fully opaque. Picture attached.

Sorry, yes of course that would have been some important information!
It is PAL, so I’ll give your dimensions a go.
Many thanks,
Ryan

Thanks John, Jeff & Jason for replying.
John, you’re right and I’m wondering if that sequence is corrupted because I created a brand new, but identical, sequence and it instantly looked sharper. However, the titles still aren’t great on the rendered clips unless I export in .mov (rather than H264)
Jeff, Playback and Paused resolution are both on HQ. No issue there, and yes, the rendered clips are terrible.
Jason, where on earth do I find title settings? I’ve never heard of them before, and Google doesn’t provide any answers. Thanks.

Hi Larry,
Thanks for your response. One question though – I am creating a regular DVD rather than a Blue-Ray, so your post leads me to assume that particular feature should work for me?

Hi Tom,
Problem solved. It appears the best remedy is to crop 13 pixels off the top and bottom of the frame in the export view. Obviously you’ll lose some of your screen but it doesn’t seem to be particularly visible. Here’s a link to my post on the Adobe forums and you can see Ann’s response that includes and image of what to do:

Best of luck,

Hi Tom,
No I haven’t been able to fix it either. I’m trying endless combinations. I’ll let you know if I get anywhere – please do the same!

I’ll give that a go right now.

Thanks Kevin,
I’ve come to the same conclusion. I’ll have a look at the projection idea but I’ve got a lot of these units to do so may have to find something a bit quicker – and yes a subtle, blurred reflection is looking more likely.
Oh well,
thanks for all your help guys
Ry
