    Hi James,

Yeah I’ve looked at that tutorial. The problem is that a) the box doesn’t revolve and b) when you angle and then skew the reflection, it’ll fix and mirror one plane of the box but not the other – in this tutorial case, the angle of the DVD spine will still be wrong however it’s concealed, because he composites the reflection slightly higher and behind the original image. Something you can get away with as it’s a dark and not simple box, mine are brighter and you’ll notice if some of the reflection is missing.

In short, the angle/skew option will only fix one angle of the box 🙁

    …unless I’m missing something important?

    Thanks for your help though

    Ry

    Hi Steve,

I have indeed and I didn’t find anything that could help.

James, thanks for the link. I do actually already have VC Reflect, and whilst it works to a degree on 3D stationary objects, it can’t handle a rotating object.

    Kind regards,

    Ry

Thank you Alex, Kevin & Todd.
That’s given me a lot of options and I’ll have a play with them. Special thanks to Todd for making me aware that a word such as squigglevision can actually exist in this world. That is just awesome.

    Thanks again guys,

    Ry

    Hi Ajay,
Did you try out the suggestions from Steve & Dan who replied to my original thread? Personally, my problem was solved by Steve’s suggestion – I clicked on composition settings, and my pixel aspect ration was on widescreen rather than square pixels. Selecting square pixels sorted out my issue instantly.

    Hope that helps,

    Ryan

    Hi Vince,

Thanks for your post. The answers to your questions are all yes, and I’m not trying to change the frame size of the export, just get it to make it the same as the source. I’ve got round it to an extent, just seems I can’t export them as movs now. I’ll try using something else.

    Thank you,

    Hello again,

I finally heard back from the client, and this time, their web developer. The swf file I provided still doesn’t work, and here’s the explanation from the developer himself:

“I had a look at this ‘new set of files’
and they are not what I required. You should simply be able to drag and drop an SWF file (stand alone) into a browser window for it to play, both your other movies work this way and there is no issue. Your website is configured to work using a control that emulates this format into a ‘light window’ using a third party framework; if it is not as I have mentioned then it won’t work this way without extra development efforts.”

That does not help me at all, as I still can’t seem to create standalone SWF files, they are always created with a flv and won’t work without it. Can anyone help??

    Thank You

    Ryan

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for your response. I’m afraid I didn’t follow much of it, I am really new to swf files, never been asked for one before!

I think it’s safe to say there’s no player interfaces involved, as I don’t know anything about them! I’ve just got a video file that yes, looks the same as the flv file when it plays. I’m going to try sending them another file with some ofyour comments and hope that works, otherwise I’m really lost in the woods! :S

    Thanks,

    Ry
