  • Getting Premiere to export correct size

Posted by Ryan Stone on August 20, 2009 at 10:08 pm

    Heya,
This is similar to a post below, but I didn’t want to confuse things by adding to his. I have a simple widescreen project. I selected widescreen 48khz at the start and when I export I ask for a PAL widescreen setting with square pixels and it always, always exports with letterboxing effectively making it 4:3. I have so many problems getting Premiere to export the same as the source, it’s unbelievable.
    Can anyone help?

Is your source also PAL Widescreen? Do your project settings also show square pixels?
Your Source, Project Settings, and Export Settings should all match.
If you are transforming the frame size of the source, you may need to render the preview prior to export.

    Hi Vince,

Thanks for your post. The answers to your questions are all yes, and I’m not trying to change the frame size of the export, just get it to make it the same as the source. I’ve got round it to an extent, just seems I can’t export them as movs now. I’ll try using something else.

    Thank you,

    Ryan
