Thanks for the response.
What’s the split layer command?
How will using the plugin’s camera instead of comp camera affect the objects?
I have the comp camera moving in the space, nothing crazy, a little job move around the front of the scene. But I set the BCC plugin to comp camera so it was in the correct position. Will it still be okay when I change it to the plugin’s cam since it’ll be attached to the null?Brandon Morris

Is it worth using other networked computers’ cores?
Don’t they take longer bc it’s pulling the content to render from the main computer that is rendering as well?Brandon Morris

May 26, 2011 at 11:12 pm in reply to: Simple Sphere with extruded displacement mapWhere can I get a good mesh? It just needs to look like land.
Right now in AE I have a small texture, applied motion tile to animate the spin, warp effect to make the globe perspective, and cc glass effect to simulate the bump map. I can’t seem to get the bump map to change with animated motion tile, so it’s a static bump map.

What’s a good amount of RAM to get? For 12-cores I need 24GB of RAM for MP? What benefits would there be to have more? How does final cut studio use RAM, maxed at 3?

I’m getting the same error.
I’ve gotten it before when the .mov was a reference file instead of self contained.
I just re-saved the file as a self contained and it opened. This time, it’s not working.
If I try to search for the file in the error box all the .mov files are ghost files. Is there another work around?
Or a way to remove the that footage file with coding?Brandon Morris

What’s the deal with the 720p actually being 960×540?

April 4, 2011 at 10:32 pm in reply to: Canon 550D Video format, export settings, vimeo/youtube! PLEASEFor YouTube an Vimeo I just set to highest quality H264 and keyframe all. YouTube has their advanced uploaded which allows up to 10gb files. It’s usually on the righ side of the upload page, a little discreet. If the video is still to big, YouTube says to limit quality to 5000 Kbps.
As for DVD, I export a full res out of FCP and use that file for converting to web and DVD. It’s just faster and quality is usually the same as exporting from FCP to web format.
I take the full res file and open it in Compressor with the Apple preset for DVD. It’ll make an .m2v video file and an audio file. Use those for DVD Studio Pro.

I have seen a few ways but it just adds on equipment.
I think it was hdmi out to a small black magic box that did SDI out to a tiny LCD mounted on camera for operator and another SDI out to video village. But that also needs external battery power for black magic box.I was hoping an adapter or magic lantern would work and save money and weight.
