    Hi

Just upgraded to a new 8 core MacPro with 16GB RAM and everything is fine – except when opening projects from my old G4 AFX finds each video file and the throws up a message: “Searching for movie data in file: exterior.mov” (or whatever).

It’s taking over an hour to open a project as a result of all this ‘searching’.

All the other files associated with the project are found without any problems.

The clips are M-JPEG Quicktimes from Media 100 there is nothing odd about them – why should AFX be doing this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Dave

Yes they are by-refs, but my other system finds the data instantly – the file structures for the original data are the same on the new system so I’m not sure why it takes so long to link to the data?

    I’m getting the same error.
I’ve gotten it before when the .mov was a reference file instead of self contained.
I just re-saved the file as a self contained and it opened.

    This time, it’s not working.
If I try to search for the file in the error box all the .mov files are ghost files.

    Is there another work around?
Or a way to remove the that footage file with coding?
