No, I haven’t found a solution. I’m basically waiting for Apple or Panasonic to make a fix, until then I’m down to FCP 5.1.1 and staying there.

    Hello Steve,
I’m out on a job now, but I will be back by next week to send you something for testing.
    Thanks,

Yes, this is definitely frustrating. Unfortunately I am going to have to reinstall Final Cut Studio and stop at 5.1 until this is fixed. Jan, if you read this, is there any progress on this with Panasonic or Apple? Thanks, Rik

I have not experienced this with the OIS off. Did you check to make sure your zoom servo is fully engaged to auto? It might be in between manual and auto.

October 19, 2006 at 7:01 pm in reply to: P-2 TXT. Files

Please someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that .txt file is used to link a clip that was split over 2 different p2 cards when on fills up and switches to the next. You can manually splice them back together in editing. I made the mistake of not transferring that file many times when I first used the system and it doesn’t seem to affect it other than what I described above. I haven’t had any problems importing or capturing the footage without it. Anyone else?

October 19, 2006 at 12:48 am in reply to: P2 camera , recording to dv tape ?

The DV footage from the HVX200 looks great compared to a DVX100. I find a noticeable clarity shooting regular DV, probably due to the better optics. The only tradeoff is that the cameras low light performance is not as good as a DVX100. I find downconverting HD in camera to DV looks even better, if you have the time to do this at 1x. It’s great to be able to put something on a DV tape that was shot in HD at 60frames slow-motion! Good luck!

If you are panning on a tripod, you will get those stabilizer “jumps” with the OIS on. Always shoot with it off for tripod shots.
    Hope this helps.

Finally! I actually glad someone else is experiencing this, so Apple can work on a fix, I was beginning to think I was alone. I do, however, have a bunch of clips under 30sec that have the problem, so I don’t think duration is problem if it is that wide-spread.

    Thanks!
