Posted by Truck1 on October 19, 2006 at 2:08 pmIs there a way to import and use P-2 CONENTS without the TXT. files?

October 19, 2006 at 4:15 pmI am a complete idiot who somehow ended up with some of the most important footage I’ve ever shot on my computer without txt files from P2 cards. I was hoping I could re-construct the file or use a diffferent editing system to capture them as Q-times? I am using FCP5.1.2 – if anyone can help I would be super grateful!!!

October 19, 2006 at 7:01 pmPlease someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that .txt file is used to link a clip that was split over 2 different p2 cards when on fills up and switches to the next. You can manually splice them back together in editing. I made the mistake of not transferring that file many times when I first used the system and it doesn’t seem to affect it other than what I described above. I haven’t had any problems importing or capturing the footage without it. Anyone else?

October 19, 2006 at 7:48 pmThe LASTCLIP.TXT isn’t necessary to import the CONTENTS folder properly. Rick is right, it is there to tie any footage that carries over from one card to the next. I have test imported footage without this file and they import fine.
