Yes, you cannot change the name of the CONTENTS folder without getting an invalid directory error.

I thought FCP would not recognize the folder without the CONTENT name? I’ll try it….what the heck.

Well, I appreciate your time. Yes, I can’t think of anything else that it could be, but a bug with the update. I shot all of the footage 720/24PN and copied the CONTENT folder and Lastclip.txt to folders for the project. I hope someone has some ideas tomorrow…

    Thanks,
    Rik

Yes, same problem on two machines that were upgraded. I just checked the disk permissions and the “Ignore ownership” is checked. I also just unlocked all of the files in the CONTENT folder in one of the problem areas as well as the lastclip and still have the problem. I also just tried some footage that exists on a LaCie d2 BIG DISK EXTREME…..same results, some clips capture, some do not.

I’ll check the permissions. They are currently on a new LaCie Rugged 120gb HD.

One is the last g4 Powerbook made, 17″ 1.67 with high-res display and 1.5gb ram. The other is a G5 Dual-Core 2.3GHz with 4Gb Ram. Both are running the latest Tiger and are completely up to date with software update.

thanks for the help Jeremy, but no, I’m using different clips all the time. I have also determined that the duration may not be a factor as some of the clips are up to 28sec. long. Also, I can take these same clips and have no problem capturing on the 5.1.1 systems. I do have the original CONTENT folders and Lastclip.txt files as well.

I trashed FCP and the receipts, plug-ins etc. Installed FCPO 5.1, updated to 5.1.2 and have the same problem. Any other suggestions?

    HELP!

I will try the reinstall/trash prefs route and let you know.
    Thanks,
