If you’re using FCP 6, then use the Log and Transfer window to open them.

If you’re using FCP 5, then use the Import-Panasonic P2 window to import the files.

I would first delete the render files. If that doesn’t help, I would delete the preferences.

If you shot at 1080/24P and not 1080/24PA, then FCP is importing them correctly, at 60i/30P. I don’t know why one would be 60i and the other 30P, but it would make sense that neither would be 24P.

In this case, I would use Cinema Tools to remove the 3:2 pulldown. If I were you, I would first check to see if both the 60i files and the 30P files have a standard 3:2 pulldown.

I’m really confused by why the files would have a green render line when imported into a sequence. Can you open the files in QT and then get info on it, then tell us the exact specifics of the file type?

Also, how bad is the sync issue? Does the audio come before the video or the other way around?

I’m not sure I completely understand what you’re asking, but if you’re asking if there is a keyboard short cut to open the menu in the lower right corner of the viewer window, then the answer no.

I that is not what you’re asking, please try to describe your question in another way. You could also try including a picture of your computer screen to see if it helps to clarify things.

In your original post, it wasn’t clear to me if you had been using 8-bit uncompressed originally in your FCP sequence or if you were using a different codec and then converting the self-contained movie file to 8-bit.

The important thing is that you’ve figured out how to prevent rendering your file twice to have it seen by Windows.

This is why I was asking about what codec your FCP output was. Then we could determine if the codec was even available on Windows.

So what codec are you editing in and what codec are you using when you transfer out of FCP?
