After you uncheck the anamorphic box for the sequence, you’ll need to manually resize the clips to work right. It’s really not that hard though, because by using the paste attributes feature, you just need to change of the 16×9 clips, then paste the attributes to the rest of the clips by selecting all of them at once. Same with the 4×3.
I’m not sure I explained that very well, so you might want to look up how to use the paste attributes feature. Also, be sure to change the distort property along with the other properties to get your footage to look right in a 4×3 timeline.

Some one just posted a very similar comment just recently. I think there was a script that was suggested that you could use to do what you want (or maybe just something similar.)

For 4×3, I typically use 640×480. For 16×9 is use 640×360.
When you’re going to the web though you have to be conscious to what your audience needs. I mostly transfer videos for approval. The majority of the time the client downloads the video. For this, H.264 has been a great codec and everyone with iTunes can play the videos.

You should try using the audio out put (headphone jack) with it set to optical. Then with the right cable, you should be able to go out to a home theater 5.1 system.
Or you can get a firewire audio box. There are a bunch of different kinds.

When you import your footage, go to ProRes instead of XDCAM. MPEG-2 stinks for realtime fx and exporting.

Open the activity monitor in the utilities folder. Sort by processing power and see if some other application or task is eating up your processors. I’ve seen it where a dashboard widget was using an insane about of processing power. Then you can force quit that item.

If I were you, I’d sell yours on ebay and buy the pro. I don’t like using separate cards for audio and video. It’s hard to trust that it’s really in sync.

Have you looked at the Intensity Pro? It has HDMI and SPDIF.

Are you playing it back off of a DVD? Make sure your DVD player is set to play out 16:9.
