Have you considered using .wmv? It might sound a bit “noobish” but .wmv holds good quality and small file sizes. I’ve used it for all of my drum covers on YouTube and it never let me down, even with 720p and 1080p’s.

    Hello Anthony Diaz,

I think there is a very simple explanation for that.

Sony Vegas uses the files located on your hard-disk but it used to locate it on your desktop as (for example): “H:yourprojectyourfile.mov” because you plugged your harddisk in the “H” usb port of your desktop.

When you plug it in your laptop it may be changed to (for example): “J:yourprojectyourfile.mov” because you plugged it in the “J” usb port of your laptop.

But you can easily specify a new location for your files. And yeah, if you go back to your desktop you’d probably have the same problem.

    Hey Libby,

I’m sorry, I didn’t see this post earlier, so you already had the presentation, but I’ll try to help you out anyway. There are 2 yellow triangles. These two will select the area you want to render. You probably didn’t select the whole video so:

    This:

    Instead of this:

If you don’t want to do this anymore in the future just go to:
“Render As” and deselect the “render loop region only” option:

If this didn’t work, please message me back.

Select the first clip (left top), holding shift key, click on the last clip (bottom right). With all these selected, you can easily drag all the video clips.

    Hi Mike,

This is really an audio issue. You can’t solve it in Sony Vegas, you need to use an audio editing program. You can add an compression. The volume control in Sony Vegas will put up your whole audio track without compression, which means that your peaks will be above the limited gain, which causes distortion.

You can use free editing software like Audacity, also you can look up for the cheep programs like Cool Edit Pro.

    I hope I helped you.

Yes, it also was my problem when I first started out. You need to drag those yellow arrows to select all of your footage that you want to render. If you dont want to do this you can easily uncheck the checkbox in the render menu. (Images below):

I want to help you, but your question is to abstract 😛 I want more details, you mean how the clips fade in to eachother or the background?

    Lemme know.

  • Hey Ken,

What picture and video size are you dealing with? And are you using the P&C of the clip or the track?

    Helping people is cool!

  • Its very easy, you have to make a “parenting track”, if you “motion-track” this track every track under this track will have the same settings. See image below:

You can repeat this step up to your 25th track 🙂
