I’ve done alot editing for my webshow in the past and ive usually just used an .mp4 render settting, it doesnt give me the best quality but it works, but now im going to start filming movies with my brother and the .mp4 render setting isnt cutting it and the only format that seems to give me the HD quality i want is when i render it in quicktime, but the file size is retardedly huge, does anyone have a fix or something so i can render it with that kind of quality but with a lower file size?

Not that I’m aware of. What are your render settings for mp4? Sony AVC or Mainconcept have worked well for me for YouTube.

well no matter how high i set it, the max quality i get is this “soft” look to it, although the max ive set it at is 135 million bps

Have you considered using .wmv? It might sound a bit “noobish” but .wmv holds good quality and small file sizes. I’ve used it for all of my drum covers on YouTube and it never let me down, even with 720p and 1080p’s.

i did, but it only improved it a little bit, i found a solution though, i used handbrake to convert it to an .mkv file with high quality settings and lowered the file size by like 90-100%
