Probably not the best response on my part, but, they should be GREAT. I just bought two 2007WFP and they look beautiful!! Lower resolution, and probably no where near what you’ll see with the 2407, but this is my 4th Dell monitor and I have no complaints to date.

Two BIG advantages over the ACD is the price (currently on sale at Dell.com) and multiple inputs!!

BOB…. what do you do for sync??? I was thinking of adding a 5th Dell for a client monitor (2407). What I’m seeing now with the 2007 is a slight frame delay…maybe 5 frames or so? Wouldn’t the AJA converter fix this for LCD’s??

    Thanks

  • I haven’t seen noise, but this week I noticed distortion in the picture after an up-rez recapture: Offline DV –> DVCPRO50 via LH.

For some reason some of the clips had the wrong aspect. After looking at the Motion tab, all I did was reset the aspect to 0 under the distortion option.

Other than that, captures and playback have been fine. As suggested, try trashing some preferences, maybe uninstall/reinstall Kona drivers.

    Good Luck

I had this after installing some versions of KonaLH software. A good round of permission repairs and preference trashing should help.

yeah…the Batch Processor is under the File menu in Peak (the full version, not LE).
Open it, set your levels, output folder, and file type/extension….close Peak. Then drag all the files onto the Peak icon and the Batch Processor will go to work. I’m using 3.21…never upgraded after Soundtrack Pro was released, but I’m sure newer versions of Peak have a same (and hopefully better) batch function.

You can do this using Peak. I haven’t used it in a while now that I run Logic and Soundtrack Pro, but I remember Peak having a great batch feature. http://www.bias-inc.com

The only product that does this to date, in RT, is the now abandoned Cinewave board.

  • [Mitch Ives] “Which Kona?”

Sorry bout that…just say this message.
    I’m running the LH.

  • U may need to trash preferences and reassign the MCU to FCP. Since you just installed Kona, its a good idea to do that anyway. I’m a big cheerleader for the MCU and have been running it trouble free with the LH for a while.

Also make sure your audio mixer is open. The MCU only runs when the mixer is open.

May 25, 2006 at 2:37 pm in reply to: HELP!! with Apple’s Backup Application

Thanks Simon. The problem with the restore folder is some of the applications won’t launch because it looks for registration info. Not all system files can be replaced via copy/paste, and other critical system files aren’t being restored properly. This was clearly designed for music, photos, and other B.S. which restored without problems. A little frustrating.

I’m using Carbon Copy Cloner now to sync an old G4 that has OS 10.4.6. I should have gone this route to begin with!!
I put a little too much trust in Apple on this one. Backup is clearly not ready for Pro use. To its credit, ALL the data is backed up…now we need a “professional” way to restore!!!!

  • The DV50 codec works for me. I do a broadcast show with little effects and full color correction…no QC failures to date!

Uncompressed is great if you’re doing a lot of effects work, etc… Other wise you can save a ton of space with the DV50 codec. It runs around 7MB/sec.
