Try sending the timeline to Compressor. There is a preset for standard definition that should be faster.

And we just made 1000 SD DVD’s of a music tour to Romania that was shot in HD as well. They turned out great. I make DVD’s all the time and have never had a problem with graphics in DVDSP but I always use Compressor to encode.

I would have each shooter change the clip names in camera to start with his initials and then organize them into dated folders. That way you will know who shot what clips based on their file name and date. Just an idea.

  • It sounds like you have multiple files with the same names. Did you rename the master files after import or reset your camera file name sequence? If you reset your camera you may have the same file names as some of your older files. Which camera are you using?

Condensation was my first thought as well. The problem extends out away from the hat so not sure if masking will make it look better or just set off the rest of the haze. Worth a try though.

Not sure about the Panasonic but my Sony EX-3 always makes a new file number for every shot.

  • I use the Dell model 2409 24 inch monitor and it works great. It only cost $199 late last year but not sure if it is still available. Check it out because it works great for my XDCAM EX footage.

I have the FSB6 head as well and it works great. No need to look further in my opinion although I am sure there are other good options as well.

I use the 17 inch MacBook Pro 2008 version with 4 gig of RAM. Pretty slow when it comes to compressor or long renders but still works fine. I use LaCie and Caldigit external drives and have had no problems.

Just set up your autosave in preferances for a short time period. I use 4 minutes but thats just me. Some use 15 minutes or so but I would hate to have to do even that much editing over again. I save 25 copies of autosave and then they just get deleted automaticly after that.
