Ill was at NAB and it appeared that the 320 was very similar to the 350 except for the 1/2 inch chips. when I looked at them side by side it was hard to tell the difference except for the larger diameter lens.
I don’t think that the demo 320 will be useful as “B

Greg Sorry if you misunderstood my post… I was just referring to the transfer from one card to another… I always use the Sony Clip broswer to move the clips on the cards into my system… I guess I missed the point of the original post. The problem of going from one card slot to another has never been a problem for me. My editing platform is Edius 5.12. It is very simple to get the footage from the SXS cards using the Sony clip browser into my system. It opens from within the program and I just make two mouse clicks and they are all in the bin and then on the timleline. No transcoding or converting…
Sorry if I confused anyone…. probablly just need to get some rest been at it way tooo long today.
Take care

I have been recording for 3 years now with EX-1 and Ex-3 using the same cards over and over…. for hundreds of hours with out a glitch.
There are times when I get the “about to switch slots” message and if I am not recording at the moment I switch manually. In those instances when the camera is running and the switch card comes up as one fills up there has never been a problem. The only problem I have had is when using after market reader MXR and aftermarket cards.
One of the readers failed during a shoot I was lucky that I had a SXS card in the second slot and I just hit the change slot button and kept on shooting. I did loose a few second of the previous clip. The reliability of the Sony EX cameras series for me has been nothing but outstanding. I just wish I had the money to add the 2/3 or even the 1/2 new cameras to our arsenal.

If you have another camera that you could try the lens on that would eliminate either the camera or the lens…. Maybe put the stock lens back on the camera and see if it behaves properly.
sorry for your problems good luck

I shoot at different cities each weekend with my racing TV show and each time I have to change frequencies just to find a clean spot. I also had the 700 system and as of June 10, 2010 it will be illegal. In other words you could be fined for being on this band. I really can’t see how a low powered wireless microphone could cause a problem for others even during an emergency. Just more wisdom by the government…..

I shoot with an EX-3 also and I edit with GrassValley/Edius 5.5. All I have to do is open the Sony clip broswer from within Edius and high light the first ans last clip and they import in to the bin and with one more mouse click they are all on the timeline in perfect order.

I use a power tap from IDX that allows me to run a on camera light or one on a stand separate from the camera battery on the EX-3. I have a shoulder brace by Olof@WestsideAV.com and they included a power plug that would work for a light. I am sure you can find a power tap from IDX…. Just plug it in to the power connection on the IDX and then power you light with it. Also theere is a power tap for 12 volt lead acid batteries like the “Again& Again” 12 volt battery that will allow you to run a light.
Hope this helps

Hello Noah: We all had to start somewhere and we need to be careful about putting some of our Editing challenged people (like me)down. My original occupation of many years I’m sure would baffle you if I started describing the intricate procedures in Endodontic therapy.
I don’t mean this as a put down for you.. you are a fountain of knowledge and I have learned much from your posts. At the same time just remember that there was a point where we all started in this industry and some of us are still learning every day. Most of the time when I am having a problem with a project it is something so simple and basic that I am missing and I am embarrassed to post a question.
Take care my friend and keep up the good work
