I must have purchased the Mercalli only and not the CMOSfixer. That must be the problem. I purchased a few months ago before V14 came out.
Is the CMOSfixer something that makes a big difference. Seems like Mercalli has gone from one simple step in Version 2
to having to do two steps now to correct shaky footage.
I haven’t ventured in to V14 yet as I’m not sure all my plugins, etc. will work and I don’t want to get into situations where V14 might now work to get my programs to PBS.

The link George sent seemed dead but the one you provided me with Jorma worked and I now have Version 12.
    Thanks.

I’ve been using Vegas for many years and every version has the same issues.
It simply never renders well 100% of the time and it’s frustrating.
This is not an answer to your question but I sure understand the problem.

One way that works very well in helping overexposed footage is to:
    1. put “levels” on your event and bring the levels down.
    2. put “curves” on the same event and bring the levels back up with your curves.
That will bring back some of the blown out colors.

If you hold down the shift key when dragging a transition to your events, it will eliminate the fine tuning choices and simply drop the default transition on there. That saves time.

When I was trying to figure out how to produce a show for PBS I ran into this sort of thing constantly from people who boastfully prided themselves in knowing more than I did. I was using a Sony Z1U camera which I was proud of and they would literally laugh at me telling me that their lens along cost $15,000 and that I couldn’t possibly shoot with anything less.
Now I look back after having done over 100 shows for PBS mostly with the help of people here in the forum like John Rofrano and they have done none. All I’m saying is pay no mind to those people. Their idiots who like nothing more than boast of their expertise but have little else to offer.

    Good information.
With this and other info that has been posted I’ve decided to have a local shop build my system as I already have a video card, and a few other items that can be used and upgraded.

    Hi Peter,
Thanks for this information. I’ll check it out but I’m so unfamiliar with all the nomenclature it’s all a bit unclear.
Is your computer a 10 core, 12 core processor? What is the processor.
    Thanks
