Personally speaking, rendering can be a HUGE problem. I’m not the expert that so many are on the forum but I can tell you even the best of them have rendering problems often with little solutions other than render it again.
Sometimes what happens is that after rendering for hours on end, when it gets to the very end of the render, Vegas pops up with a message saying “error in rendering” or something like that.
Hopefully you won’t have that issue but it does happen.

I render 3 half hour programs which just about fills a DVD using these settings.
    I use batch render –
MaincConcept MPEG-2 and from the dropdown I use DVD Architect NTSC video stream
Then I use Dolby Digital AC-3 Pro and the Stereo DVD on the dropdown.
This renders my two files to use in Sony Architect.

If you ctrl-click the clips you want to sync, it will just sync those clips only and leave the rest untouched on the timeline. Of course the clips you want to sync have to each be on their separate track.

ADR is quite amazing in Vegas. I purchased an audio DVD from VAAST by Douglas Spotted Eagle and he talked about the use of the M-Audio Pro-fire 610 which helps in getting good audio. I purchased it and plug in my XLR mikes to it and it works great.
Vegas has the ability to keep doing “takes” if you loop an area so if your ADR isn’t what you like, it keeps looping and then you get to choose which take fits best so in that way you can just keep the clip running and replace the dialog until you get it right. Sort of automated way of accomplishing the ADR.

This may not be the problem but I have occassionally saved my projects as a “save as” and made the mistake of saving in the same directory that had been saved to previously. Well, Vegas doesn’t overwrite the files, it makes new ones and adds 000 to the file name and you’re left with double files and a mess of new names clips.
I’ve had trouble loading Vegas once this has happened. Check your files to see if you have a lot of extra clips.

You can reset any parameters you’ve put on a pan/crop by right clicking on the image in pan/crop window and choosing restore.

If I’m understanding right, the green line IS the velocity envelope. double click on that line to get a point in which you can move up or down to change the velocity. Or just grab the entire green line and slide it up and down.
A neat trick to freeze frame is to right click on the square point you have created and you’ll see a drop down that has a number of options. The “set to” option if set to 0 will freeze frame your video.

I’m aware of the copying to an already existing directory as that has really messed me up before. Three times I’ve saved as to a 3 clean directories and the same thing occurs.
I did rename some files that were in the project with () signs but they were in the original project that I edited from. Could that be messing things up?
