I produce a TV series for PBS and I use the:
Sony MXF format to give to CaptionMax who take it from there to make an HDCam master tape.

Here are the settings in Vegas I use to produce the file.
custom settings on the Sony MXF video tab are:
    Video format – HD
    1920×1080
    16:9
    Upper field first
    Video quality – high
    profile 422

    Hope that helps.

That is a great idea. That’s what I’ll do.
    Thanks.

Another great link for sounds is
    freesound.com
I have uploaded quite a few sounds to it such as long sections of birds, trains, thunder, etc. and I can find just about anything I want there. Again… totally free.

Load your project and then do a Save As and point it to a directory you make. Be sure to check the box that says “save media with project”. This will save everything in your video no matter where it was to begin with. It will save it all to the one directory you specify.

Be careful not to save it more than once to that directory. If you do it will rename every clip and you’ll find you have two of everything which can be a mess. If you want to save as again, create another directory and save it there.

The strange thing is that it is these particular few projects that are having the trouble. Other projects work just fine.

I have noticed that sometimes just resizing the video preview window will make a fuzzy picture become clear…

  • Also be sure to cut down your clip so there isn’t a really shaky part at the very end or beginning of the clip when you may have still been rolling and moved your camera toward the ground.

That’s a good point. I have a few plugins installed. Maybe I’ll uninstall them one at a time and see what happens. It’s like trying to reinvent the wheel here…

I’m curious as to what you will do with all those images. I didn’t even know you could interpret the images like John said.
