The version of Mercalli that comes with Vegas 10 is OK but it doesn’t compare with the newer version of Mercalli that can be purchased. It’s really amazing.

I’m going to give this a try. I’ll have to look up on how to unmulticam it first. Even when using Vegas constantly, if I haven’t used a feature in a while it evades me as to accomplish it. Thank goodness for the forum.

I have not used Infiniti-cam but it sounds good and I probably should get it but if Vegas does the job I sometimes hate to get yet another program that I have to learn and remember. I’ve also had trouble with plug-ins in the past where they don’t work in a new version of Vegas and on occassion I’ve had plug-ins actually keep my project from loading if the plug-in isn’t installed.
That and I’m trying to keep my budget on track. -

You know I switch back and forth between Vegas 9 and 10 so I’m not really sure when this comes up. I just know it happens frequently. I think it happens with Vegas10. I’m don’t think it happens with Vegas9 but it might. It definitely happens with Vegas10.

Thanks for the replys.
My autoripple was on but I opened another instance of Vegas in copied over other clips and that seemed to mess things up. -
That was a great tutorial as I didn’t know about the red border which is really handy.

Hi Russell,
John really knows what he’s talking about when it comes to this. He has gotten me through some really rough times with his expertise.
If you have a deadline or air date, I can add one thing… No matter how much you get it right, there will be something else that comes up which you had no clue or idea about that messes things up when it comes to getting a tape to someone like PBS.
So…just be sure you give yourself plenty of time to work the bugs out before you commit to getting an air date otherwise it will be a lot of stress. -
Just a reminder that some production companies that may be making your HDCam master tape do not take MXF files as we were working with one that only took the uncompressed .mov files.
John knows all about this so best to take his advice.
CaptionMax will accept the MXF files and they will add captioning from start to finish without you having to do anything (except pay) -
Yup. That does it. Thanks for the tip.
