Mercalli 2
Posted by Roger Bansemer on March 16, 2011 at 9:39 amI’m been using Mercalli V.2 for stabalization this morning on some footage and although the footage was pretty smooth for hand held, Mercalli takes it and makes it simply glide as if I was using a $30,000 steady cam. It is really amazing. And it is so much better than the first version of Mercalli that now comes as part of the Vegas10 package. It’s well worth the money for Version 2.

March 16, 2011 at 1:55 pmYea, I am really impressed by Mercalli 2. The “Glide Camera” setting is one of my favorites for silky smooth motion. It is definitely the “next level” above the rest and a must have tool for those times when you can’t use a tripod.

March 17, 2011 at 2:49 amHello:
I downloaded the trial version and it is truly amazing.
But it seems the stabilized video has less image quality (contrast) that the original one. Is that correct?

Yes, is the short answer. However, you can mitigate against this by altering the ZOOMING in. Read the support literature and fiddle withthe basic settings. I think John Rofrano has done a Merc2 Tute for this.
