  • How do I lengthen duration of text clip?

Posted by Roger Bansemer on February 25, 2011 at 5:30 pm

When I add text, why is it Vegas doesn’t let the text extend itself without repeating. In other words, if I want to change the background color from blue to red, the text clip repeats after about 5 seconds and that background color will go back to blue.
Any way to change the length of a text clip without it repeating?
    Thanks

I don’t know why the text event doesn’t auto-lengthen when you extend it on the timeline… maybe to keep the behaviour the same as for video events.

You can use the “Match Event Length” button on the Generated Media editor window (button looks like a mini timeline selection) to make the event’s length the same as your lengthened timeline event, instead of the default length of 10 secs or whatever. Then it won’t have to loop.

Change the Duration time in the text box window.

Yup. That does it. Thanks for the tip.
