    I must be doing something wrong.

    I have VP 9, I insert a velocity envelope on a track but I don’t see the envelope. (I see it the setting “checked” when I verify this)

    Only horiz bar that is present is the opacity level adjustment bar.

    What’s the trick?

    Is this solved? If not, can you post a screen capture showing your project with the missing envelope and the video track affected?

    When I right click in the VIDEO EVENT and select add velocity envelope, I get a green envelope line throught the center of the video event. VP9c

    If I’m understanding right, the green line IS the velocity envelope. double click on that line to get a point in which you can move up or down to change the velocity. Or just grab the entire green line and slide it up and down.
    A neat trick to freeze frame is to right click on the square point you have created and you’ll see a drop down that has a number of options. The “set to” option if set to 0 will freeze frame your video.

    Thanks to everyone for responding.

    I tried it again on my desktop and it’s working properly.

    I’ll go back to my laptop again and see what’s going on. That’s where the issue presented itself. I’ll also try the same .mp4 imported clip… just in case this makes a diff.

    I’ll report back.

    Thanks!

    Check in View->Video envelopes->Event velocity .
    My guess is that event velocity is uncheck

    That was it!!!

    I hope your answer helps others as well. I had no idea there was such a setting.

    Cheers,
