If your playback supports mov container, you could try one of the virtually lossless formats like JPEG2000. Reduce the quality to 60-70 percent and you can get an uncompressed look with a relatively decent file size

In the composition window Right click on the text layer and “convert to paragraph text”. If you want to type right from The start as paragraph, then with the text tool Active, drag a rectangle and only then type.

You can try smart mask interpolation but this only applies to mask paths ( you can copy the shape path to the mask path and copy back when you are done). Look for smart mask interpolation article by chris and trish meyer. You can also try morphing in illustrator using the blend tool, and import as a sequence – Rick Gerard has a tutorial about it in his YouTube channel RGEFFECTS
