Adding a bounding box to a text layer that doesn’t have one
Usually when I create a text layer in After Effects, I just click once on the screen with my text tool active. This creates a line of text with no predetermined bounding box around it. Is there a way to add a bounding box to a text layer, though, once it’s created like this?

in photoshop there is (type>convert to paragraph text), but i don’t believe there’s an option for that in ae…

In the composition window Right click on the text layer and “convert to paragraph text”. If you want to type right from The start as paragraph, then with the text tool Active, drag a rectangle and only then type.

I should point out to anyone else who might need to do this that you need to have the Text tool selected when you right-click. This took me a while to figure out ????
