Hi Jurgen, I’ve run into a bit of a snag. I have the newest version of OBS installed 13.0.2 but it can’t see my Sony Camcorder. It sees my Surface Pro Front and Rear Cameras but not the Sony Camcorder. I’ve tried connecting via USB 3.0 and HDMI, but it doesn’t pop up as an option. Any ideas? Do I need some kind of special adapter? If I connect the Sony Camcorder directly to my TV it sees it clearly. So, I know the cable is good. It’s a bit baffling to me.

Some of the things you mention are confusing to me. What makes you think I’m 4:3? I set all my clips to 16:9 in pan crop, on every clip, and set “stretch to fill” in my Render Settings. So what is it I’m missing?

John I have a similar question, but by using the Search function, this is the closest topic I could get to my question. I’d like to find a render setting that fills the screen, when viewed through Windows Media Player or any smart phone. I’m happy with the quality, just not the screen size. Do you have any recommendations? You can see from the two screenshots what I’m trying to achieve and see what current render settings I’m using. I appreciate any and all advice offered.

Yes, I know the post is old…it’s just that I’m encountering this problem now in my current Project. I never had a need for this effect in the past. Is it possible you can post a tutorial to Dropbox, or even give me the page number in the manual to read up on this, ’cause I can’t find it. I can’t believe Creative Cow will not allow postings of video tutorials, what are they thinking? It’s kind of extremely ironical that a website about video editing software won’t allow videos? I am absolutely flabbergasted!! Anyways, in the end I guess I’ll get a third-party plugin.

Graham, thank you for this explanation, but I’m not quite grasping what to do. I have turned on masking, and created a rectangle mask. But I don’t understand where to grab it to move it? A video tutorial would be most helpful, not just a video of the final result. My goal is to not show one side of Video track 1, but instead replace that side with Video track 2. I don’t need to animate the mask, just have it in place, very near the center of the screen. Thank you Sir for your time, and assistance.
