September 5, 2016 at 12:57 am in reply to: Updating my Sony Vegas 13 Pro??

Ok guys, thanks……I’ll contact Support, and make sure any updates I test can be reversible. Is anyone else having a problem with Red Giant Plural Eyes 4 in Vegas? That’s the whole reason I’m interested in testing an update, because everything else runs smooth as silk.

September 1, 2016 at 8:40 pm in reply to: Herogyph from within Vegas 7.0e

Steve, I know this is an old topic, but I’m encountering the same problem today. This time with Sony Vegas 13 and Heroglyph 4.0.187. This time I did check off “log on as DirectX Media Component
(sony vegas)” so it did install the plugin, but Heroglyph is not visible in the “Media Generators” tab. Is it perhaps supposed to show up somewhere else, or is there a step I have to complete in Vegas? Kind of confused at the moment.

  • Merci beaucoup Francois. Okay, I’ll update to the OFX version, it can’t be that expensive of an upgrade. I truly appreciate you taking the time to answer my query. Formidable!!

  • Alan, I have the stand alone version of Particle Illusion 3.04.1, (32-bit) but the problem is I can’t see the plugin inside of Sony Vegas 13 (64-bit) Is there a way to get Vegas to see Particle Illusions from within my N.L.E.? Like perhaps just a .dll I can drop in the appropriate folder? Thanks for any and all assistance offered.

Ok, this is resolved. Turns out the Slate installer puts a copy of the .dll’s in the 64-bit side as well. In other words, C:/ProgramFiles/VSTPlugin folder. I had to remove it from there as well. Makes sense, just didn’t know the installer installs it there as well. So I’ll just direct my DAW to scan the new folder I created for Slate, and everything should work normally again. Thanks for your help Mike! Truly appreciated.

Ya, I thought a re-boot would work too, but somehow it’s still picking up the Slate Digital plugins. Makes no sense to me. I’m either going to have to uninstall the Slate plugins or…………is there a way to open Vegas, by say temporarily removing ErrorChecking.exe so I can get into Vegas and stop it from scanning my VSTplugin folder altogether? This is turning out to be a bigger mess than I anticipated.

Well I’ve just moved the whole Slate Digital folder out from my Audio Applications VSTPlugin folder, and somehow Vegas is still picking it up, and stop it from loading. How can that be?

Thanks Mike, I will do that. I was hoping there would be a way to get Vegas to open temporarily, then un-tick the offending plugin from within Vegas? No way to do that?

  • John, I know this is an old post, but my search results took me here. I am finally building a new system, and I would love your input on one of my components. Is the R9 290X still the way to go? As that’s the one I’ve ordered, but it’s not too late to change my mind. If you have any new suggestions I’m all ears?

Hey John, as a side question, which version of DVDA and up burns Blu-Ray discs? I think I have to upgrade my version as I’ve never seen the option to burn Blu-Ray’s in DVDA.
