Hey guys, there may be no fix for this, ’cause I can’t find one. But I thought I’d ask. Perhaps one of you has encountered this? Just finishing the install on a new box, and I’ve noticed that Heroglyph 2.64 is not visible from within Vegas 7.0e. I know it was on my last build, so I’m trying to figure out what I did differently this time around. I have installed the 2.5 Service, before the 2.64 upgrade, as per Heroglyph’s site. That’s supposed to make it visible in Vegas, so I’m at a loss as to why it isn’t. It used to appear in Vegas, and dragging and dropping it on to the timeline, opened the entire Heroglyph program, which would be nice, if I can do it again. If not, I can work around it, by building in Heroglyph, but it would be nice to have it working the way it once was. Any ideas, most graciously welcome!! As an added note, there was no opportunity to direct a Heroglyph .dll into the Vegas folder, as I was expecting. Is it just a matter of dragging one of those dll’s to the Vegas plugin folder?

You don’t need to drag nothing from nowhere.
During the installation you will see the option to
install heroglyph as a plugin for any compatible host
you have installed on your computer…probably you did
not select the option to install it as a plugin for vegas.

Therefore uninstall it completely, then re-install it
and make sure you select “log on as DirectX Media Component
    (sony vegas)
    “….including the updates.

Thanks Steve, I’ll give it a try! Thought that was the issue, but never saw that. I’ll look more carefully this time. I’ll report back, if that resolved the issue. Thank you!

Ah…………….!! Thanks Steve, that worked perfectly. What threw me off, was in the Heroglyph install, it says check off Direct X for Vegas 4, 5, or 6…………being on 7.0e I didn’t think it was necessary to check that off. Irregardless, it works perfectly now…………thank you!! So ya, check off Direct X regardless of what version you are running. Lesson learned.

I figured that’s what happened. It will pickup any version
once the option is checked….Glad to help.

In the meantime, check over on their website to
download the latest update version…(Its free).

Steve, I know this is an old topic, but I’m encountering the same problem today. This time with Sony Vegas 13 and Heroglyph 4.0.187. This time I did check off “log on as DirectX Media Component
(sony vegas)” so it did install the plugin, but Heroglyph is not visible in the “Media Generators” tab. Is it perhaps supposed to show up somewhere else, or is there a step I have to complete in Vegas? Kind of confused at the moment.
