Okay, so the premise of the whole thing already is just plain ludicrous, since you’re actually comparing a COMPOSITING app with AN NLE and are surprised that the options aren’t congruent??! ????

AE vs Motion, as it should be, if anything:

Wait… so you’ve been in that menu so many times and not ONCE have you noticed the various COMMANDS for each and every one of those? Four in all. Or are you saying you’re actually not able to remember to simply put a ⌥⇧ in front of an X, C, V and ⌫ key? ????

Like what? Anything that actually makes SENSE to keyframe most definitely is keyframable. Or are you wanting to keyframe the SPATIAL CONFORM or something else that would be completely nonsensical to want to keyframe?

In which case Motion’s integration with FCP in fact far exceeds that of AE’s integration with Premiere as well btw. But they’re trying hard.

Couldn’t disagree more. You must simply not be doing anything very taxing or anything that benefits from the cores and GPUs as much. Or something is just plain wrong with your machine(s). The iMac Pro is a beast from my experience.

Just edited an 8K RED film in realtime, even with color corrections applied on my iMac Pro. Mind you, NO optimization or proxy or any of that. Merely set to “Better Performance“… which is obviously a completely moot point at 8K.

So what is it I need a Mac Pro for again?

But then I guess it’s an FCP thing? ???? Where you plain don’t need superfluously beefy hardware and slots and racks and what not else just to be able to edit video. This is the 21st century last I checked. I also have no clue why anyone would think they actually needed more an iMac Pro(!), let alone a top of the line iMac just for editing with Final Cut Pro X, unless they cut nothing but 14 camera 6K multi cams all day… but even that is doable with an iMac Pro. ???? So I can only assume it’s just some “cool” or “pro” factor that needs to be nursed by insisting on racks and towers.

Agreed. Why ask why they’re NOT making one as opposed to why SHOULD they even make one to begin with? Since any level of necessity is the only real reason to even be asking, no? That is if it is to be a constructive inquiry and not in fact “argumentative just for its own sake”. ????

Fact is, due to the lack of ANY tactile feedback whatsoever, the notion is completely counterproductive in the context of video editing. If you need this, simply get one of the MANY external control panels there are, and best of all… save a LOT of money doing it.

Exactly that.

And it’s not like some haven’t been done many times over for FCP. All useless for that exact reason and why Apple won’t be making one. Because they, too, know how senseless they are. At least as far as the control and video aspect part is concerned. With AUDIO staring at the screen is not a necessity. You could even be sitting in the next room doing your mix, who cares?

If and when they add the the hooks for audio i.e. mixing panels etc., then maybe.

Yes, this is unfortunately a bug specifically with the german version of 10.4.1. The shortcuts somehow became hybrid versions of the U.S. and German ones, which is why no U.S. user can possibly know what you could be talking about. If using the standard layout (which is why people that have previously been using custom german layouts will also not have this issue) the shortcut is ⌘⇧0 (technically i.e. according to the Command Editor ⌘=, but that’s not even possible) for zoom in.

Apple knows about it. Until a fix comes, you’ll have to make your own custom layout with the “right” shortcuts, use Z for the zoom tool… or learn the new ones.
