First off, there’s no need to do any restarting. If you opened it via right-click and saved it then it will appear in FCP X automatically and updated each time.
Are you sure that you’re using the EDITED version? It will be called “Left copy“, unless you changed it upon saving. And any version (instance) you have in the timeline then needs to be replaced by the new one. They won’t update by themselves.
BTW, you can reposition text individually in any title by using the position handle when in edit mode:
That of course doesn’t apply to the graphic, unless of course you published its position parameter, then that would show up in the inspector.

There is no way you will be able to create anything that occupies 3 axis of space at once. For that you’d have to look into something like mObject which gives you volumetric objects in Motion, but I have no idea if it would do that specifically.

Is there a reason why you want to do it in PS? Just habit, or is there something in particular you need that Motion can’t supply? Only because there are of course a few caveats to keep in mind. Such as the fact that Motion won’t recognize layer groups, masks, layer effects etc. Setting and importing the type in/from PS will obviously lead to rasterizing, which wouldn’t be the best quality choice, aside from obviously not being editable anymore. I’d say, especially if you plan on using it as a template for various resolutions (I’m assuming in FCP), you’re best doing as much as possible from within Motion and maybe just importing certain graphic elements from PS.

Could it be that you mean the VINE or even the PULSE, not the SKYLINE template? Because I really don’t see anything that qualifies as “sprouting” in the Skyline template.
At least in the case of the Vine template, the growing effect is done with replicators and the Sequence Replicator behavior. Probably the best thing would be to dissect the project that is doing what you want to figure out how it is done and simply replicate or even just replace with your own graphics.
Or, even much more useful, check out Mark’s training at Ripple Training. There is even one that deals specifically with replicators.

Yes, I know what you mean. I’m not terribly excited about the change either, but it was (unfortunately for us Motion old-timers 😉 done to work like FCP X (I’m guessing) so as not to confuse newcomers i.e. people coming to Motion from FCP X for the first time. Which also explains the disappearance of the “Record only for animated parameters” option in the record options window. 😉
To move an object and maintain the keyframes’ relative position without creating (a) new one(s), you need to hold the ⌥ and ⌘ keys.

That’s the only way that I would know of without the use of an actual reflective object. Otherwise you could try using a white “floor” for the reflection and then applying it with a composite mode such as Overlay over your backplate, if that’s what it is you’re looking to do.

The best option I could think of also. Has a bunch of great little tips on the side also. 🙂
