The slide transition works the best.

Since you’re on SAN I would recommend using Proxy files. You can still export using the full resolution. That would help playback.
I love the idea of background rendering but it really eats up resources quickly! The computer slows to a crawl. I’ve tried to turn it off or delay it but it keeps rendering away. Very annoying.
Still, FCPX is a great app.

You’re awesome for doing that. It would of been better to “leak” that footage into the right hands and shut those jerks down.

I disagree. Hard drives are very unstable. We’ve had too man go down. Archiving on a medium with no moving parts is the best.
Currently we shoot on minidv and when we’re done we put it on a shelf. Perfect archive solution.
With p2 I don’t know what to do. The file sizes are unruly. Since fcpx handles mp4 so well, I would like to archive it in that format. Makes sense to me. Large HD file sizes? No problem-o!

I didn’t know that there were presets in the Color Correction window. I learn something new everyday.

Thunderbolt will allow the connection speed to add 3rd party hardware. But, we’ll see that with iMac and Mac Mini.
I’m really excited to see where FCPX will go. It will achieve great things. What will probably happen is the discontinuation of Professional hardware such as the Mac Pro.
We’ve already seen the discontinuation of Xserve. Mac Pro will face a similar fate.
