I don’t know what that is. I selected “optimized my clips” when importing.

Yes I have snapping turned on.
But I’m pressing the “end” button to add video to the end. Why is fcpx giving me flash frames?

Incase anyone is having trouble with this in the future.

Make sure you file is correct and DO NOT create optimized media.

That was the problem for me.

November 2, 2012 at 1:20 am in reply to: How to add Transition Effects to Titles

Nope, I did not find a solution.

The problem is fundamental to the software. Not all transitions are like this. I doubt it will ever get fixed.

The best solution is to export it as a mov file with alpha using prores 422 (I believe).
    Also submit feedback about fcpx.

Is install easy or should I take it to a shop? I’m worried that if I put it in myself would I be able to troubleshoot to get it working. Is it plug and play?

September 10, 2012 at 4:03 pm in reply to: Why does FCPX remove the white from my picture?

    Yes, I see the checkerboard.
I brought the photo in as a jpg and a png and they’re both having alpha issues.

This is what the photo looks like.

Here is the photo in my FCPX. It is a JPG or a PNG file and there shouldn’t be an Alpha. My other images that have a white background don’t have this issue.

    Thank you for your help.
What I’ve done is made a compound clip with a color white generator.

  • Just to jump in.
We bought the Prime Cache-A and we also bought a NAS server from Rushworks.

Both of them will work with your set up.

We purchased the products from these two companies not only for their great products but their outstanding customer service.

    LTO
The LTO writes linear, you can only put one project on at a time. It writes like a tape drive. We have ours in the Cache-A format. We’ve had the Prime Cache-a for less than a month.

    NAS Server
We haven’t taken delivery on our new NAS server. Message me and I can tell you how it works.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Take care,
    Bobby

Keep in mind how long it took for you to become solid with Final Cut 7.

It will take a few more years for FCP X to reach the level of FCP 7 but the foundation will stay the same. It’s my opinion that FCP X is going to be far and above better than FCP 7.

I say get Final Cut X. Get some lessons from the Apple store. The one-to-one cost about $99 a year and you can do one lesson a week. And you’ll find yourself hating the FCP 7 interface like I currently do!

    Keep us updated!
