The FSI 2461 supports P3. The monitor is selectable between 709, P3 etc. Now as with most (I actually don’t know of one) flat panels it doesn’t support 100% of P3 color space but gets very close

April 28, 2011 at 10:34 pm in reply to: Signifcant Grading Latency On the Video Out Monitorwhen you install resolve those are the correct drivers for the deckling card, not the ones you get of the BM website. Currently there isn’t version parity as the Resolve drivers let you do things like output timecode to scopes etc. I made the mistake early on when I saw that the deckling drivers had been updated going to the BM website and installing them, next thing you know resolve was very sluggish and had problems like you describe. The fix was to uninstall the non-resolve drivers, uninstall resolve and then reinstall resolve and all was right with the world again.

April 6, 2011 at 9:55 pm in reply to: Using Resolve on a Second Monitor from 15″ MacBook Proafter attaching the second monitor, you should be able to open up system preferences and click displays then click arrangement. Drag the menu bar that should be on the MBP screen over to the external display. That way when you launch apps they’ll launch on the external display as its set to the main display.
For what its worth I’ve been able to load resolve just fine on an iMac you just get all sorts of warnings about video cards etc.

Well I would put a vote towards the 17-55. This lens is absolutely one of the sharpest lenses in my bag. Great for photos, good for video (as good as photo lenses can be). I actually sold the Canon L 24-70 I had for the 17-55. Granted its EF-S so it will only work on cropped bodies like the 7D but its a really really good lens. On the long end don’t forget that you get help from the 1.6x crop factor of the 7D. On the short end you might want to consider a super wide angle 10-12 mm to fit the wides you might need.

The laser pointer is a great idea (ok for LCD and Plasma?) My biggest thing with that setup is that clients always want to talk face to face and not talking to the screen. Undoubtedly they always get up and come over to my work area anyway.
To each their own I suppose no right or wrong way

I’ve tried the client in front before and found it difficult to communicate. However for certain setups like projection its the only way to go.
